Joe has about nine years experience in the field of water and natural resources management and development. Before residing in Ethiopia where he has undertaken several research studies, Joe spent over two and a half years based in South Asia undertaking water resources research. His skills include understanding the social-legal, socio-economic, organizational and technical/physical dimensions to water rights and control, and to irrigation technologies and development; directly interacting with rural communities and a range of NGOs, policymakers and academics/development consultants; designing and conducting research activities and recording and disseminating outcomes. Joe’s subject specialty is small-scale irrigation development in rural subsistence farming systems.
